Les Trophées des Jumeaux Numériques

Règlement du concours

Article 1: Organization of the Competition
The company ABM, publisher of the Twin+ news website, whose registered office is located at 28 A avenue de Restinclières – 34160 BEAULIEU – FRANCE, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with a share capital of €8,000, registered with the Montpellier Trade and Companies Register under number 915 008 551, organizes a competition entitled “Digital Twin Awards” (hereinafter referred to as “the Organizer”). The Digital Twin Awards are a concept and a registered trademark developed by Xavier Fodor, ABM, and Twin+.

Article 2: Purpose of the Competition
The purpose of this competition is to highlight outstanding achievements and initiatives by project owners in the field of digital twins. Winners receive “Digital Twin Awards” granted by an expert jury as mentioned in Article 6 of these rules. Other awards are also presented: the “Twin+ Public Award” and an award granted by the co-organizers of the Awards. Participation in the competition implies full and unconditional acceptance by participants of these rules in their entirety, as well as of the decisions made by the Jury.

Article 3: Participation and Application Deadlines
Registrations are open on the dates indicated in the agenda section of the dedicated website accessible via the following URLs: www.trophees-jumeaux-numeriques.fr and www.t-jn.fr. Registration forms may be submitted until the time indicated on the same website. Application files may be uploaded to the secure and protected area opened from January 1 on the competition platform for each candidate, until the date and time deadline specified in the competition agenda. After this deadline, any file received or modified will be rejected. The Organizer reserves the right to extend the participation period and/or postpone any announced date.

Article 4: Conditions and Validity of Participation
The competition is open to all digital twin projects, regardless of their objective and sector of activity (construction, territories, industry, healthcare, logistics, energy, tourism, etc.). It is open to all projects located in France and abroad. Candidates may be local authorities, companies, or public or private organizations, as well as researchers or students. Applications for a project initiated, developed, and/or carried by a third party—such as an operator or asset manager, IT services company, etc.—are accepted only if the third party has obtained the agreement of the project owner, who must jointly submit the application. As a reminder, only the project owner may speak during the award ceremony. The project name must not contain any brand name or company name.

Registration is carried out online via the competition website. To be valid, the registration form must be fully completed online, with all required fields filled in.

Important: In order to receive all messages related to the Awards, it is essential that the designated contact person adds the organization’s email addresses organisation@t-jn.fr and sam@betwinplus.fr to their contacts and/or asks their IT department to prevent these emails from being rejected.

After completing the online registration form, the candidate must receive a message from the organization. If no message is received, particularly by email, this means that the registration has not been properly recorded on the server. It is therefore necessary to complete the form again or to contact the organization.

Online registration confers the status of candidate and implies unreserved acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale and of the rules of the Digital Twin Awards for which the candidate is registering. By clicking the “validate” button at the bottom of the registration form, the candidate confirms their registration and the accuracy of the information provided. The candidate may be a natural or legal person with the legal capacity to contract and meeting the eligibility criteria. When the candidate is a natural person acting on behalf of a legal entity, they guarantee that they are authorized to legally and financially bind the legal entity on whose behalf they act, which will consequently be bound by these conditions. The term “candidate” therefore applies to both the natural person and the legal entity, both being jointly and severally liable.

The candidate declares and guarantees that they hold and/or have obtained all authorizations from the holders of intellectual or industrial property rights attached to all elements of the application file (designs and models, architects/project owners, photographs, copyrights, image rights, etc.). Candidates, finalists, and winners authorize in advance the Organizer and members of the organization, co-organizers, partners, and media partners to use the name, logo, and image of their organization, the names, first names, images, and voices of their representatives, as well as all elements submitted in the application file, in all media and on any medium, insofar as it relates to the Awards for the current edition and subsequent editions, particularly for information or promotional purposes related to the Awards. These authorizations are granted without any obligation of any kind on the part of the Organizer. The candidate guarantees the Organizer against any claims in this regard.

Once the participation form has been validated, the Organizer acknowledges receipt within two business days. An email is sent containing a link to the competition platform through which the candidate will upload all elements of their application file, which will be made accessible to the organization and the jury. Applications must be submitted exclusively via the competition platform. The Organizer provides candidates with various guidelines to assist in recording the application video. To facilitate the jury’s work, it may be useful to accompany the video with other documents (plans, photos, videos, etc.), in accordance with the recommendations and file size limits indicated. The candidate has access to their personal space and may modify their application file until the submission deadline.

In the event of difficulties, the candidate may contact the Organizer so that assistance may be provided within reasonable limits. The Organizer’s liability cannot be engaged if it is unable to provide assistance due to lack of expertise, particularly technical expertise, or lack of time, especially if the candidate’s request is made too close to the final submission deadline.

In the case of an international application, the preferred language is French. Video responses may also be submitted in English, as well as supporting documents in English. No other language will be taken into account.

The Organizer reserves the right to eliminate any participation form or application file that does not comply with these rules.

During the main phases of the competition (submission of the registration form, opening of the application upload area, and validation of the application file), candidates are advised to contact the Organizer by email at organisation@t-jn.fr or by phone at +33 4 34 43 15 22.

Article 5: Financial Conditions – General Terms and Conditions of Sale
Applications to the Digital Twin Awards are entirely free of charge. A candidate may submit as many eligible files, projects, or achievements as they wish. However, a separate candidate space must be created for each submission, using a different email address each time.

During the award ceremony, each winner receives a numbered engraved trophy accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Additional trophy reproductions may be ordered at a price of €200 excluding VAT per unit, i.e. €240 including VAT (shipping costs included – VAT: 20%).
Article 6: Jury – Selection of Finalists and Winners
For this competition, the jury of the Digital Twin Awards is composed of French and international experts selected from among personalities recognized for their work on digital twins in the construction, industry, education, and research sectors. The full list of jury members will be published in February of the competition year. Until that date, it may be subject to change. The jury’s first tasks will be to appoint a Jury Chair, then to define the selection criteria used to review and rank the candidates’ applications, and subsequently those of the finalists.

The selection criteria for the awarded projects are defined by a panel of experts who are aware that there is no single standard model. Digital twins can be based on a wide variety of architectures and core software components, adapted to the intended uses. Likewise, different rhythms and approaches to data integration and consolidation may exist. Digital twins also offer a wide range of methods for representing, visualizing, and sharing data with many users. Finally, digital twins are emerging as tools supporting diverse uses, acting as drivers of productivity and new, sometimes unprecedented, services. Beyond more traditional selection criteria—such as project quality, potential, and innovative character—the jury will pay particular attention to current issues, such as the integration of challenges related to ecological transition and climate change.

The jury’s selection is carried out across all applications based on the application videos, written submissions, and supporting documents (images, PDFs, screenshots).

In a first phase, each juror has 15 to 20 days to review the applications. They assign scores according to the following criteria: collaborative dynamics, technologies involved & digital convergence, data management and quality, reproducibility, innovative approach, and impact in relation to climate challenges (bonus point). The average of these scores results in a mark out of 20. If necessary, the juror may add a comment. Note: in the event of a lack of impartiality, the organizers may ask a juror not to review one or more applications.

In a second phase, meeting as a jury, the jurors validate the titles of the main categories defined by the organizers based on all applications received. The applications are then distributed among the different categories and ranked according to the average scores awarded by all jurors. In each category, the three finalists are discussed based on the jurors’ scores and comments. In the event of a tie or lack of consensus, the jury proceeds with an elimination vote. The Jury Chair has an additional point that they may allocate if they wish. This point may be used only once.

Important: At least three applications must be submitted in each category in order to make a selection. Consequently, the organizers reserve the right, in consultation with the jury, to remove a category if the number of applications is insufficient, and also reserve the right to assign an application to the category most appropriate to the project presented.

The jury will select up to eight Award winners. It may also grant a “Special Jury Award.”

Important: After the ceremony, each applicant will receive a summary evaluation sheet from the jury. This document provides the average scores for each category, the overall average score, and compiles the jury’s (anonymous) comments. This transparent summary does not constitute a formal study or consulting work. However, it may help applicants understand the jury’s choices and draw useful and constructive feedback for their own projects.

A “Twin+ Public Award” will also be presented. It will be designated from among all projects submitted by candidates, based on the videos published on the Twin+ website, which is free to access upon simple registration. Voting requires Twin+ membership (account deletion is possible the day after the competition). A member may “like” a project only once, but may “like” several projects. “Likes” will be counted until the date and time indicated on the Awards website. The video receiving the highest number of “likes” will be awarded the “Twin+ Public Award.”

Article 7: Publication of the Identity of Finalists and Winners
The names of the winners will remain confidential until the award ceremony itself. Video, photographic, and editorial coverage of the ceremony will be carried out by the Organizer and published in particular on the competition website and on Twin+. Various press releases will be sent to editorial offices.

Article 8: Award Ceremony
Each category winner will receive a trophy during an official award ceremony held on a specific day organized in Paris. This ceremony is reserved for winners, jury members, and authorized partners.

Winners will receive a diploma and a trophy for the category they have won during the ceremony (additional reproductions may be ordered, see Article 5). As a reminder, only the project owner may speak during the ceremony.

Trophies are presented by an official partner or a member of the Awards organization. Official partners may add a prize, in the form of products or services, to be awarded to one or more Winners or Finalists. The names and logos of partners and any associated prizes will be announced as soon as possible on the Digital Twin Awards website.

Article 9: Data
Data collected as part of participation in the competition are recorded and used by the Organizer for purposes related to participation. The Organizer may send candidates commercial offers, proposals to participate in professional events, or offers for products and/or services relevant to their professional activity. Candidates’ personal data may be shared with the Organizer’s partners in order to send them proposals for similar products or services related to their professional activity. In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978 (“loi informatique et libertés”), participants have the right to access, rectify, or delete their personal data. Any request must be sent by email or by post to the Organizer’s address mentioned in Article 1 of these rules.

Article 10: Force Majeure / Reservations / Evolution of the Competition
The Organizer cannot be held liable if, due to force majeure or circumstances beyond its control, the competition must be modified, shortened, or cancelled. Accordingly, the Organizer reserves the right to modify the scope of the competition at any time, in particular with regard to categories (number and titles), application submission conditions, and the schedule, in order to preserve overall coherence and the integrity of the judging process so that the competition may be completed. Candidates will be informed of such changes in due time and may, if they wish, withdraw their application. The Organizer reserves the right to carry out any verification it deems necessary regarding compliance with these rules.

Article 11: Disputes
These rules are governed by French law. Any difficulty in the application or interpretation of the rules shall be settled exclusively by the Organizer.

Article 12: Consultation of the Rules
These rules are available for consultation format throughout the duration of the competition on the websites www.trophes-jumeaux-numeriques.fr and www.t-jn.fr. A copy of the rules may be sent upon simple written request addressed to the Organizer by email at: organisation@t-jn.fr.
